It’s been a while since I posted anything here, and I’ve been aware over the last month or so of not posting. I’m not sure if it was lethargy, pure laziness, disinterest or a lack of time and energy that has led to me not posting – certainly none of those is a full and valid reason, though there may be a little of each rolled into one!
I’m curious, therefore, to find myself suddenly logging in here to post a link to this story from the Guardian website. Part of their regular Experience columns, of real life stories from ordinary people, there was something truly powerful about this description from a woman who accompanied her friend to a Dignitas clinic.
At risk of sounding like a broken record – I seem to dwell a lot on death here, I know! – I think this is worth reading, particularly the last couple of paragraphs.
I’ll post again next time I have something I feel strongly enough about to share…
